Optifoam Thin is a highly-conformable polyurethane foam adhesive dressing. It is ideal in the treatment of low to moderate draining wounds and skin tears. The dressing is constructed of a highly flexible micro-porous polyurethane membrane coated with a patterned adhesive. This provides an optimal balance between adhesion and fluid handling through moisture vapor management. Self adhesive, no need for a secondary dressing Light, non-bulky and flexible for increased patient comfort Highly conformable Permeable to water vapor and oxygen to maintain a moist wound healing environment Waterproof to allow patient to shower Cushioned foam pad to protect during the healing process Can also be used as a secondary dressing Abrasions Lacerations Superficial pressure ulcers and leg ulcers Superficial and partial thickness burns IV sites Graft wounds and donor sites Coverage of closed wounds Skin tears Surgical Third degree burns Full thickness wounds Change Frequency
Up to 7 days, dependent on patient condition and the level of drainage. Initially, it may be necessary to change the dressing every 24 hours or whenever good wound practice dictates the dressing should be changed.
