Indications
Use of the Nisus® touch Negative Pressure Wound Therapy System must be prescribed by a physician per the stated indications for use. Nisus® Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Pump is indicated for use in patients who would benefit from negative pressure wound therapy, particularly as the device may promote wound healing by the removal of excess exudates, infectious material and tissue debris.
Contraindications
Contraindicated for use when there is malignancy in the wound, untreated osteomyelitis, non-enteric and unexplored fistulas or necrotic tissue with eschar present. After debridement of necrotic tissue and complete removal of eschar, Nisus® touch Negative Pressure Wound Therapy System may be used.
Warnings and Precautions
Do not place dressing directly in contact with exposed blood vessels, anastomotic sites, organs or nerves. Precautions should be taken for patients who are or may be: receiving anticoagulant therapy, patients with known hemolytic disease, untreated for malnutrition or who are non-compliant or combative.
